Background of the Study
Digital literacy is a critical competency for entrepreneurial success in the modern business environment. It encompasses the ability to use digital tools, platforms, and technologies to create, manage, and grow businesses. For online businesses, digital literacy influences marketing strategies, customer engagement, and operational efficiency (Davis & Walker, 2023).
In Sokoto State, where digital adoption is gradually increasing, online businesses represent a growing segment of the entrepreneurial landscape. However, the varying levels of digital literacy among entrepreneurs create disparities in business outcomes, highlighting the need to investigate its importance for entrepreneurial success (Musa & Abdullahi, 2024).
Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing significance of digital literacy, many online entrepreneurs in Sokoto State lack the necessary skills to leverage digital tools effectively. Challenges such as inadequate training, limited access to digital resources, and low awareness about digital opportunities hinder entrepreneurial success. While studies have explored digital literacy, there is limited research on its role in online business success in Sokoto State (Aliyu & Bello, 2023).
